From BusinessWire, news that Stanford Dining, the university dining services at Stanford University, has received Green Business certification from the San Franscisco-area group Green Business. Coupled with the university's overall Green Business certification, Stanford may just be the most sustainable school in the US.
Of course, Stanford's a pretty prestigious place with a highly selective admissions criteria, and these qualities tend to characterize most of the schools making big strides in sustainability. As a professor at a school that's on the polar opposite side of the higher education universe, I wonder how schools like mine (Lincoln University of Missouri) can also make this leap.
