Hawking Geo-Green

According to Gil Friend, Thomas Friedman was on Tim Russert's CNBC program pushing the Geo-Green concept that I mentioned last week. I still think this concept sounds like green neo-conservatism/colonialism. I do think we need to work on independence from Mid-Eastern oil, and do think such independence would produce political turmoil in places like Saudi Arabia, but to hawk energy independence as a path to a more democratic Middle East seems like a recipe for, at the very least, disappointment... Like Gil, I'm having trouble finding a link to a page for Russert's show.
