Globalization, Democracy and Hydrogen

Doug just sent me this fascinating piece by Jeremy Rifkin from theGlobalist.com. I think the potential for a "hydrogen economy" (either Lester Brown or Amory Lovins originated this idea -- not sure which) holds great promise not just for environmental sustainability, but also, as Rifkin points out in some detail, political and economic progress. Though this essay is nearly a year old, the ideas in it are fresh and exciting. Rifkin is the president of the Foundation on Economic Trends.
