So it seems... Kenny wrote me this afternoon to say today's press conference about "Mr. Luna's Bright Idea" was a smashing success. While Oprah hasn't called (yet), Home Depot did step up to the plate with a donation of 5,500 CFLs, which Kenny claims will save the people of North Babylon (NY) over a half-million dollars in electricity costs. Kenny and kids were featured on local television today -- apparently, the media just loved the image of kids holding up signs reading OPRAH PLEASE HELP US!! I haven't found anything on the news feeds yet, but will keep checking. Many congratulations to Kenny and everyone at Robert Moses Middle School -- you might just save the world!
