Treehugger takes note of a competition sponsored by the Boston Society of Architects that challenges participants to consider aesthetics and utility in designing a wind farm. Noting what I said in my last post about the value of using competitions to spur innovation, I think this is a great idea. On the other hand, though, I do understand the concern about wind farms as the primary focus of wind energy development, and wish they'd included alternatives to the centrally-placed "farm" in their challenge. Regardless, it will be interesting to see what competitors come up with...
