Nuclear Power Not the Way, Says Greenpeace

The folks over at NEINuclearNotes like to throw out Dr. Patrick Moore, a co-founder of Greenpeace, as one of their "environmental converts" to nuclear energy. Turns out the current head of Greenpeace Gerd Leipold isn't buying Dr. Moore's schtick, though, as demonstrated in a speech in Australia. Leipold also mentioned something that tends to get lost in the current debate:
"If Australia had the energy efficiency that Japan has, we wouldn't even be talking about nuclear energy," he said.

"Our research shows that every $1 spent on energy efficiency is seven times more effective in cutting carbon than nuclear power."
The more I research, the more I conclude also that Dr. Moore has gone over to the Dark Side. Here's SourceWatch's profile of him.

UPDATE: Tim at The Future is Green has posted some interesting information on "peak uranium."
