Out to Pasture...

That's the source of a dispute between small organic dairy farmers and larger interests like Horizon organics the demonstrates that our laws still have some glitches to fix in terms of defining organic milk (and other agricultural products, for that matter). No one questions that organic milk should come from cows free of growth hormones and antibiotics, but when it comes to actual time spent feeding in a pasture, the lines begin to blur. This has become especially important that organic milk has taken off fairly dramatically in the market and account for 8.2% of all milk sales.
