OK, that's an obscure reference that only outs me as an 80s hard rock fan -- it's from Great White's "The Big Goodbye..." Stop reading now if you must... Still, it seem quite an appropriate description of Republican US Representatives Richard Pombo's and Jim Gibbons' report "Mercury in Perspective: Fact and Fiction About the Debate Over Mercury." As MoJo blogger Eric Kancler observes, take the words "Fact and..." out of the title, and you've got a more accurate representation of the contents of this "report." Kancler provides a good overview, but if you want the real Cliff-notes version, just expect the usual right-wing environmental subversions: Mercury isn't really that harmful, and most of it comes from "natural" sources... Yawn... time for a new schtick, fellas...
