As a former 6-year resident of Las Vegas, I can testify to one absolute truth: the sun always shines (and, OK, the house always wins...). The Las Vegas Valley Water District and Nevada Power Company are on track to take advantage of that truth by constructing a 3.1 MW solar power project. The finished structure will also provide covered parking for up to 200 cars, which addresses another fact of Vegas life: a car steering wheel during the summer can literally remove skin after sitting for relatively short periods of time.
