I've discussed the potential for forging alliances with the new evangelical "creation care" movement, and now Russ Baker, in an Alternet essay, points us to another potential group that progressive environmentalists would do well to engage: the hunting and fishing crowd. It is tempting to automatically write these folks off as NRA-Christian right macho men, but Baker points out quite a few facts about pollution issues and the food chain that should (and generally do) worry the Sports Afield-types.
