Along the lines of the discussion I've been having with Michael comes a report from MSNBC (via ClimateArk) that observes that some of the carbon-trading activity encouraged by the Kyoto Treaty may adversely effect poorer communities trying to deal with long-standing environmental issues. The activists involved with these matters are not, however, advocating the scrapping of Kyoto, a la Dubya and co., but rather a "mend it, don't end it" approach.
