Urban Wetlands

From Cascadia Scorecard Weblog, an overview of Seattle's Broadview neighborhood, an urban enclave that sports a "32 acre natural drainage system." Rather than the usual storm drains, Broadview makes use of "weirs, native plants, sinuous streets, small wetland ponds, and silty soils to capture the rainwater and put it to better use."
