I hope I'm not belaboring the point here, but I'm just fascinated to see this groundswell among evangelical Christians on environmental protection. This radio transcript from Australia (which is a bit awkward to read) gives yet another illustration of this: "...in an organised campaign [conservative Christians have] been ringing the White House switchboard protesting at the administration's opposition to the Kyoto protocol."
Perhaps my fascination just demonstrates my ignorance, but this really seems like something new. Is it, or are conservation-minded evangelicals just tired of being out-shouted by their more familiar anti-environmental brethren? A Google search on "creation care" (via BlueAction.org) brings up an awful lot of hits, which suggests I'm just out of the loop on this...
