From Nukes to Wind
Also from RenewableEnergyAccess.com, news of the installation of two new wind turbines at the former site of the Shoreham nuclear power plant on Long Island. Long Island Power Authority commissioner Richard Kessel celebrated this change by observing "We stand in the shadow of a modern-day Stonehenge, a multi-billion dollar monument to a failed energy policy, to formally commission the operation of a renewable energy technology that will harness the power of the wind for the benefit of Long Island's environment." WorldChanging's take on this development is a bit less enthusiastic, but certainly not dismissive.
