A Master Narrative for Environmentalism
Kurt Cobb at Resource Insights has some perceptive thoughts on what a "master narrative" might include that restores environmental issues to their rightful place in political dialogue, and has followed up with some specific points. It's been very energizing to see the thinking that's gone into this topic since the November election. Kurt's responding to the widely circulated "The Death of Environmentalism," and makes clear that he believes that tract "[subordinates] the environment to the progressive agenda whereas I believe it should be the central organizing principle in it." I can't think of a more important discussion that needs to be happening within the progressive movement.
