Encouraging News from Canada

From Howling, a report on a recent Canadian Supreme Court ruling that supports the "polluter pays" concept. Doesn't sound like this one is completely in the bag -- the article's language is rather tenuous, noting that this ruling "could eventually force Crown-owned BC Hydro to help pay the clean up costs of one of the most contaminated sites in British Columbia." So, when does "accountablility" and "ownership" start applying to corporate polluters? When will we see a corporate equivalent of the "welfare queen" who takes advantage of government largesse while failing to uphold his/her end of the bargain?
