Don't Get Mad, Get Profitable
Joel Makower makes some perceptive comments on the potential of the "social enterprise model" in response to an article on the subject from The Nation. This dovetails nicely with a very interesting discussion going on at GreenBusiness.net on the appropriate relationship between green businesses and non-profits and their larger, less green counterparts that may provide necessary capital/revenue. I suppose the ultimate question (one which we've discussed ad infinitum): can we "save the world" through entrepreneurial activity, especially when so much business activity has contributed greatly to social and environmental destruction?
