Is "Global Warming" Imprecise?

RealClimate has a developing argument over the use of the phrase "global warming." Is this term too loaded with misinformation to accurately despict human-created changes in the climate? Or, are we allowing the misinformers to appropriate the term? One thing's for sure: "climate variability" is unacceptable...
