"Geonomics Wins the Next Wave"

From The Progress Report via Peak Oil News, an intriguing idea on how to rethink taxes, government subsidies and the corporate role in public life through the concept of "geonomics." This reminds me of the "green tax" idea promoted in Natural Capitalism, and I think it holds some real potential for changing how we think about economic value. I'd suggest to author Jeffrey J. Smith that we think beyond land to other public resources used for private gain -- everything from roadways (though I guess this would fall under the land category) to airwaves.
