Sun Power's Promise and Limits

From the Rocky Mountain News via Howling at a Waning Moon, some thoughts on the potential and pitfalls of solar energy after a two-decade test in Gardner, Massachusetts. A former Gardner resident notes "If I had it to do over, I think I'd get a windmill." Still, I have to wonder if experiments with cheaper plastic solar collectors (which are also less efficient that silicon) can make enough of a difference in price to make solar much more competitive.
