Summer Blockbusters and Global Warming

I haven't seen The Day After Tomorrow yet, and I'm not generally a fan of summer disaster films, but this one's sparking a lot of discussion. As a film buff and student of popular culture, though, I'm really glad to see something coming out of Hollywood that is drawing attention to the issue of global warming. Plus, it gives conservative commentators yet another reason to wring their hands over the "decadence" coming out of the film industry. To Rush and co.: SUVs are decadent; talking about global warming/climate change is priceless...
